Brian Beato Memorial Tournament
Honoring Legacy. Celebrating Community. The heart and soul of Rams Baseball Boosters is the Annual Brian Beato Memorial Baseball Tournament.
Since 2012, this tournament has honored the legacy of Brian Beato—a gifted sophomore and 2nd baseman at Millikan High School—who had just finished his first Varsity season when he was tragically hit by a car on June 1, 2012. Brian, the son of JV Coach Lisa Beato, was a passionate two-sport athlete who especially loved baseball. He grew up playing at ELB, Heartwell Pony, and with the Oakley Stingrays. Always outgoing and charismatic, Brian made lasting connections—even with players he’d later face on the field at Lakewood, Poly, Wilson, and Jordan.
The first tournament was held in July 2012. Coach Keven Gail, who has directed the event every year since, shared, “It was a way to get back on the field and honor Brian in a way that he would have enjoyed.” Coach Lisa Beato added, “The baseball community has always been so supportive to our family. This has made it easier and every time I am on the field I feel Brian.”
The tournament is more than a game—it’s a tribute, a celebration, and a reminder of what it means to be part of the Rams family.
